About VDK Cakes
Cakes, cupcakes and iced cookies, made for your celebration — one order at a time.
My kitchen is my studio
VDK Cakes is a small, hands-on cake business — and when I say hands-on, I mean it. From baking and filling to decorating and all those tiny finishing touches, every order is made by me in my kitchen.
I love that no two weeks are ever quite the same. One week I'm working on an elegant wedding cake, the next it might be a colourful children's cake, a box of detailed iced cookies or cupcakes for a special celebration. And every now and then, someone sends me a picture and I think, “Right… how am I going to make THAT?” That's part of the fun.
I'm based on the East Rand in Gauteng, close to Boksburg. I work by order rather than from a walk-in shop, which means each order is planned and made specifically for the person I'm making it for.
